Thumbs down Statutory Redundancies At B.a.manchester

STATUTORY REDUNDANCIES AT B.A.MANCHESTER Having read threads elsewhere it appears there are around 900 cabin and flight crew down south who are on 'Gardening' leave. Please be aware that 30 of your colleagues up in Manchester have been served notice of redundancy as of the 30th Sept 02. If the management are allowed to succeed YOU WILL BE NEXT!!! A ballot is currently in progress for industrial action in support of the 30 members of staff.Due to government legislation and red tape it is not likely to happen before mid October by which time your colleagues may have been shown the door. Please support them as it WILL affect you in the not too distant future.......Thank you for your time........

MANDATORY REDUNDANCIES TO PROCEED AT MAN I posted on the 10th and there has only been ONE comment on this subject!(Thank you flyingduthchman!).Here are some words of 'wisdom' from B.A. management which you will hear an awful lot in coming months."Union agreements? 'that was the old B.A.,this is the new B.A.". As of Monday the 15th there WILL be redundancies at MAN to employees in exactly the same position as 600 of your colleagues down south, and as quoted on a link to CC89s site "If the cap fits......".The question is this-What are you going to do?ALL union agreements are currently up in the air (no pun intended) due to managements change of stance and they appear to be steadfast in their attitude. Our union (engineering) have said if there is one person made redundant then there will be a ballot for industrial action. An awful lot of your colleagues were dismayed to learn they will be out the door before any action is taken!! .Again i ask the question (bearing in mind there are more than 30 of you) what will you do to protect your colleagues?, because your time is NOW.............................................
