Question Don't LCA Cabin Crew Get Bored?

I'm not being cute about this - it's a genuine question.

I'm charter cabin crew - on most European we work flat out, Drinks-Meal-Tea/Coffee-Sales with variations or the longer sectors (Cyprus, Canaries, Egypt etc.). Yes, it's tiring but at least we're on the move. Long night flights reveal just how tedious life can be when not much is going on.

If I was ezy crew (or Ryan, Go, Buzz etc.) what would I be doing on an Athens (or even a Malaga)? I assume that you have the drinks carts etc wrapped up inside an hour, which leaves 1.5 - 2.5 hours to do... what? I would have thought this made for a rather dull life. Do you have to bring good book in?

I repeat, I am not sniping, judging, comparing or criticising: I haven't done longer than a domestic on an LCA, and just wondered how it works on longer sector?

Services are repeated. Plus they then sell from the Go Shop. All in all they are very busy earning their commission on onboard sales.

Tightslot - the answer is possibly yes on a night Athens, which is the longest sector we do at EZY, but on most of the others there's always something to do - staff assessments, paperwork, checking cabin defects etc; by the time we've taken a relaxed run through with the easyKiosk, had a chat with anyone who wants to chat (always someone) and done a few repeat orders on the way back, quite a bit of time has gone. We get to eat in peace and to get to know the flightcrew better - It's what you make of it - if you want to be bored, you could be! Ex-BFS, many of our sectors are 25-30 mins, so we have to adjust from roller skates to loafers on a daily basis. I've done a lot of charter and full-service schedule work - this is so much easier, but wouldn't suit everyone. Any more ideas folks? Robin

The weight of my trolley bag is half work-related items and the other half books and mags!!! If I'm still bored then, as Corsaman said, you can always find some poor sod that will let you chew their ears off
Its nice having the combination of doing a double Ams, which flys by, and also a relaxing time on a Pmi...
