Could anyone give me a rough guide of airline seniority and the payscales that go with each type? eg Junior cabin crew: £.......

Thanks for your help!

Hello Boys and Girls and fellow citizens of Wibble,

Katie,

it all depends on the airline, then you have flight alowances and commission on top of that. then it depends on how old you are and how long you have been with that particular airline.

How long is a piece of string?

It all varies from airline to airline.

You generally get more on longhaul than if you are on shorthaul because the trips are longer. But - if you work for Virgin atlantic as main crew you earn the same as BA shorthaul, so you see it depends on the company.

Obviously pay goes up as you work through the ranks, but if you join an airline you'll find that people who have been there for a long time are on old contracts and are earning lot more than you but are doing the same job, as airlines are eroding contracts and pay more and more.

At the end of the day if cash is king then longhaul BA out of LHR is where you want to be.

Hope that helps.

(roughly) what is the most cabin crew can earn as a CSD or IFS on the 'newer' contracts?

for info Virgin has NO increments to reward loyalty to service. An 18yr IFS earns the same as a new one!

Another policy to have you in and out of the company before you are 30!
