All window shades in the open position except for O/W

Dear Members,

Some of the international airlines i have travelled do not really insist on having all the window shades opened for take off and landing except for over wing exits.

Is it mandatory for all the window shades or just the overwing exits?
I would appreciate if you could throw some light on the current practices in your current airlines...

Thanks.

It would depend one the authority under which the aircraft is operated under. Most european airlines will insist on this and is part of cabin secure check.
