Hi! I think that apart from how to stay hydrated the rest is very personal. The best thing you can do is to drink water/clear fluids all the way through a flight. I always have a bottle of still water on the go and take a sip whenever I can. It's become a bit of a habit, every time I go back to the galley I take a sip.
Headache-the best cure is prevention! If you are hydrated, you can snack often and you sleep properly whenever you have the chance then you will not have headaches. I very rarely suffer from headaches thankfully. There are homeopathic remedies for headaches and ailments which for me work better than allopathic medicine, but it's so personal I wouldn't feel comfortable suggesting anything to you in particular.
Good luck with this new "life"! It really isn't just a job, it's a way of living, and it's addictive!!

Thanks flybywire!
Understand skincare, etc is personal, but thought there might be some good products out there, that cabin crew tend to use.
I have been ground staff for the past 17 years, so already addicted to this industry. I am soooooo excited about making the change and learning the flying side of things though. And totally agree, once travel is in the blood, it stays!
Thanks again

I find this may change with different skin types, as I've got T-Zone (combination) skin.
I personally love Aesop. The Parsley Seed Skincare Range can be quite expensive but it works miracles for me. It leaves my face feeling really light and clean. The toner and serum really helps hydrate your skin throughout the flight as well.
However, like flybywire said though, hydration and proper rest are the two most important things when trying to maintain good skin.

I tend to get very dry lips, especially on the 777, and have found the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream lip balm to be the best. Not cheap by any means, however definitely worth it for me.
We sell an Elizabeth Arden set on the aircraft which costs less than the lip balm alone, plus our crew discount makes it a lot cheaper. It is also a lot cheaper in the US and Canada if you happen to get there.
The comments about water are indeed true. I am always drinking water onboard.

I think wearing compression stocking is very important too. Once you got dilated vein, you can never go back unless you go to do surgery. Also, by long time standing and walking in the plane may cause poor blood circulation of your legs. You may eventually feel lumb about your leg.

Thanks Flying Daruma & Tray surfer, much appreciated.
I suffer with dry lips already, so a bit worried about trying to keep lipstick/gloss on whilst flying! Will give the Elizabeth Arden product a go. Already ordered clinique moisture surge and will use moisturising masks a couple of times a week. Again, appreciate the advice
