Lost I pad on TCX
Can any Thomas Cook airlines crew help me?
My friends joined me in Turkey on Sunday September 30th from Gatwick to Bodrum.
They left their i - pad on board and we have phoned everyone we can think of without any success.
What is normal procedure for valuable items left on board? Do you hand them over to ground staff at somewhere like Bodrum? Or do you take them back to base?
Any one can offer help I would be very happy!!

I don't work for tcx but standard uk airline practice is for crew to do a security check in bodrum and it should be found and then handed over to ground staff. I don't believe it's allowed to remain on board as its a security risk.

When found by the cabin crew / cleaners it should have been handed into the handling agent at Bodrum Airport, who should then pass it onto the lost property section of the airport.
However, there's probably a Turk sat at home somewhere playing with his new toy

Almost certainly will have been handed to the handling agent at Bodrum. Hope you friends get their iPad back.

Chances are the cleaners will have found the iPad rather than the cabin crew, and I somehow doubt their honesty, particularly in Turkey where the value of the iPad is probably similar to their monthly wage.

I wouldn't be so sure

Cabin Crew should have done security checks before the cleaner got on - previous posters are correct items are not allowed to be returned to the UK as they are indeed a security risk!
I would call TCX customer service, as if it was found by the crew there will be documentation attached to the flight.
Good luck.

When I was backpacking in Turkey, many years ago, I was often told that if anything was stolen it was more likely that the thief was a tourist than a local. I found the Turks unfailingly honest, trusting, and hospitable. Things may have changed, but I would trust them before many other nationalities.

I left a Blackberry on an SAS flight two years ago. It took a few phone calls, faxes and a completed customer complaint form, but it did eventually get back to me..
Try making a formal complaint to the airline and see where that gets you. If that fails, moan at the CEO - they usually want happy customers.
