Nepalese accused of raping SIA stewardess in HK

A Nepalese waiter has been accused of raping a Singapore Airlines air stewardess on a yacht in Hong Kong.
The accused, 21-year-old Gu Lun, appeared in court and insisted that he was innocent and admitted having sex with the 23-year-old stewardess only because she flashed her chest and seduced him first.
A DJ, whom the woman knew through her frequent visits to the Beijing Club in Lan Kwai Fong, had invited her to a promotional party on a yacht on 27 June last year.
She went with three girlfriends and got very drunk after having vodka, red wine and beer. However, the next morning, she woke up with some pain on her lower body and found herself someone else's home.
After a check with her friends, she realised that she had been sexually assaulted by a Nepalese waiter and she filed a police report.
According to media reports, the woman was on an annual visit to see her relatives in Hong Kong.
Last July, a Singaporean exchange student in Hong Kong was also sexually assaulted by three Nepalese men after she had been drinking in the fashionable Lan Kwai Fong district.

Mistake number 1!

After a check with her friends, she realised that she had been sexually assaulted
Only after checking with her friends? Were these friends looking after her after she "got very drunk"? It doesn't sound like it.

I don't condone rape, at all, but to get very drunk, in this part of HK, not having made reasonable arrnagements to have one's 'friends'watching each other's backs, is foolish.

Mmm, and you've never once had a moment of bad judgement or been separated from your friends either, I'm guessing

Nope, not in this sort of situation! It's called 'thinking ahead'. It's a big, bad world out there, and you must think cause and consequence when well away from your 'home' turf.

Probably just as likely think of the concequences before getting so shyters you can't remember how horny you got the night before and what you chose to do in your uncontrolled & self-inflicted hoggish catalepsy.
And then dobbed some poor sod in for rape when you realised how stupid you'd been and done stuff you didn't like to admit to when you'd sobered up a bit . That's really nasty.

A couple of BA crew (m/f) were out drinking in Dallas (I think) a few years back, did nothing more than accept a drink from a friendly couple and found themselves the next morning bound and left naked in a ditch. Both had been raped.

Police informed them that they were almost certainly rufie'd, and were probably in someone's private video collection.

IIRC, BA sent a warning to all cabin crew advising them of means to avoid it being repeated.

I knew the gentleman in question personally, it totally destroyed him.

So comments such as yours, agaricus, are frankly a little bit tasteless, and not a little bit dumb.

To all those posting from the comfort of the moral high horse up there... until you've been the victim of a crime of the nature described above I don't think you have any right to judge... as we all know, the article said she got really drunk so the article MUST be right

You can get your drink spiked without ever touching alcohol, and it can be done by someone you (or your friends) know and/or trust... the hotel staff, that guy your friend dated once, or god forbid a member of the crew (either yours or someone else's). Just because she had a drink (or five) does NOT make rape okay, what planet are you people on?

I hope it never happens to your daughter/sister.
