Sad news
BMI says it is reducing its services between Dublin and London Heathrow, which will put 33 cabin crew positions in Dublin at risk of redundancy. This will result in the closure of its cabin crew base in Dublin.

Thanks lads. No sooner had I posted this that I noticed a thread about it up in the rumours section! LOL!
Sad for the BMI DUB crew. Some of the nicest crew in the world are based there, definataely leagues ahead of their LHR colleagues (although you guys are great too)! Ill miss you on the commute!

This is a terrible shame; to echo another poster, the bmi Dublin crew are some of the nicest people I've worked with in any industry and I will miss them very much.

Yes and no, commuting when working shorthaul is not a pleasant experience and now BMI have also reduced the number of flights between DUB and LHR.
Also BMI is doing a company wide restructuring, I am sure LHR jobs are also due for the chop!

We are losing 180CC from London. Sadly I have had to take voluntary redundancy as I have a job offer already so have had to park my wings up for a little while.
Good luck to everyone else though.

Glider...
Good luck with the future. At least you were lucky to have other options, you are doing the right thing in my opinion, the whole industry is just turning into a horrible place to work and I dont think its likely to return back to its former glory!

I have to agree, worldwide it just seems to be transforming into an undesirable job, and not the fun career it used to be. I think many of us are thinking about moving on. All the best to you and good luck Glider!
