Lagos, Nigeria Layovers

I believe BA and AF crews layover in Lagos. How long are the layovers? What kind of transport do you have to and from your hotel? Is it some sort of armed escort service? Please post anything else you can think of.

I'm thinking about interviewing with another airline who will have layovers in Lagos and I want to know what to expect before I start the process. Thank you.

It's one night for BA crews, but if you think you're going to get any more details about hotels, transport, security etc you are mistaken.

I never said I was looking for any sort of hotel information. I'm just trying to understand what kind of security is provided during these layovers given that Lagos is very dangerous. I knew a flight attendant that worked for North American and she said they provided a secured escort service to and from the hotel because it was so unsafe. Just trying to find out more information

I appreciate that, but perhaps you'll understand that any crew member who values their safety is not going to divulge information relating to their security arrangements on a public forum. Imagine you're a bad guy in Lagos and think how your request looks.

jg126: don't mind Carnage matey.

All you need to know is that security and hotel accomodation is quite acceptable

You've had your answer jg126: huge security measures, let's not get into details. Crews are taught in Security courses not to talk about it anyway.
Thanks

Why was it locked

It is sad and unfortunate that the thread on Lagos was locked. I am sure that any creepy person in Lagos can figure out the crew hotel. A UK firm is recruiting US f/a's for flights JFK-LOS and their briefing sheet clearly states the hotel and the fact that BA, AF stay there!

US f/a's have security training but given that this is Nigeria we are talking about, as Americans, this is an entriely different kind of security. I think the poster only wanted to know HOW safe your airline makes it.

Perhaps it's because if you reveal HOW safe you make it, then you also reveal HOW you make it safe. Which means the bad guy doesn't have to guess any more and you've made it easier for him and less safe for yourself. "Safe enough" is really the only answer you're going to get here.
