DaKine, I hope that the Indian authorities will return whatever was left behind in the rooms (even though your airline was happy to replace without question). Sometimes nothing's better than getting your original stuff back, even if you could've gotten a replacement.

Nothing is more distressing than an attack (of any sort), and I hope that you, your colleagues, and those of other airlines, will recover from the harrowing experience.

Good luck, and keep flying.

Tom,

I posted your letter in our company Forum (read by thousands of people). You were very good at describing the atmosphere and feelings throughout the whole experience. That's probably why it went ''global''. I think that this, more than a thousand articles written by journalists can give people a hint not only of what it was to be in the middle of that horror, but also of what the job of CC has become in the last decade. What we live and breathe every time we wear our uniform, the ghosts and fears we have to face every time we set foot in yet another unquiet part of our planet. It was a right slap on the face, speeding the slow process of acknowledging that our world has changed.

I hope that you can have your privacy and quiet back as soon as possible.

And take care of yourself, because ''processing'' will take time.

I have to take a moment to thank those who've still chosen to stay in touch as a result of this thread.

Thank you so VERY much, and blessed holidays!
