Cabin crew seats for landing alert
I hope that this is the correct forum.
Can anyone tell me what is used for the 'cabin crew seats for landing' alert on an Easy Airbus. Is it the cycling of the No Smoking/Seatbelt signs or something else?

easyJet do not have a seats for landing call, cabin crew take their seats as soon as the cabin has been secured.
Up until recently, the subfleet (ex-GB) retained this call but it's been removed.

The crew get a -10 min "prepare cabin for landing" call by the crew usually when the seat belt sign is switched on. Once they're in their seats and secure the senior crew member will call the flight deck and tell them the cabin is secure. If the flight crew haven't received this call at their decision height they'll go around.

It could have also been an emergency situation, but if you have heard that annoucement then I assume you would have known about an emergency... that call is given at 1000ft (if my memory serves me correct - dont tell the trainers) in our Emergency Drill!
Other than what the others have said, couldnt imagine why else you would here that!

Indeed, that was when the "Brace Brace" call would be at 250ft or approx 15 seconds to landing.
Was changed around about the time that CODPIES became CHIPPED if I remember correctly

It doesnt take a genius who's flown easyJet more than 5 times to notice what the procedures are! If terrorists really wanted to know they'd do their research in lots of other ways too! I know what you're talking about but it's not asif the topic of discussion is the flight deck door code!

Perhaps tomorrows SUN will have a story about a certain low cost airline endangering the safety of hospitals, schools, nunneries by flagrantly going around if the CC haven't handed in the cabin secure by x number of feet.
It's not sensitive company procedures being discussed here and all pax seated in the first 2 or 3 rows on an A319 can usually hear the SCCM hand in the secure (Many a time I have heard them comment 'Oh good we will be landing in a minute then' before).

It really is no wonder that some people think Cabin Crew are air heads....
My point was about journalists and others who have an agenda!!!!

2000 feet which is 2 minutes in an emergency.

Me thinks the Easy Airbus fleet has the auto "Bing" to the cabin when the landing gear is ordered down?? Thats our cue ( A330 ) diff airline, for the cabin crew to be on their seats....

Tight Slot, (I assume you are not the Moderator Tightslot), did you read the posting immediately before yours?
Lowerlobe, the point I assume you are making (maybe a little too subtly) is that, should I be a terrorist or have a similar agenda, a good time to attempt a storming of tight slot's (not the moderator) flight deck, is when I hear the double ding!!
Obviously, at that point I would experience the full strength of a kevlar (bullet proof) flight deck door and just how angry a plane full of scared people can get, coupled with a 45 degree climb and a painful whallop into the aft galley.
Again, be careful what you post. I now understand why there is now no 'seats for landing' indication at my airline. Maybe this would be a good idea nationally.

"cabin crew take your seats for landing" is what we say and hmmm it is quite appropriate.... doesn't sound too daft, I mean "you old scrubbers, squat on the toilets for a laugh" would of course, and be rather pointless. Although at the end of a flight, I don't think I'd like to sit on the toilet seat itself. In fact I don't think I'd ever consider sitting on a toilet seat on a plane.
All in all, I still think "take your seats for landing" is a fairly reasonable PA.
