Is this for cabin crew or for concierge?!

I've applied for the Concierge position and told that further details will follow soon. I currently work for BA and am off to Chicago in the morning, only to return on the morning of the 19th - the same day the walk-ins are being held.

Can I expect to hear back before the day, or should I just show up?!

Hi BANEWBOI. Yeah Ive been offered EOS. Im going to go to the interview for Air New Zealand though today. Am just about to set off for Heathrow now....a lovely 3 hour drive b4 my interview at 1pm!!!!!! I'll let you know how it goes. Its for Cabin crew not IAC. I had an interview for IAC in February but wasn't successful. They did however put me through as cabin crew but I had a call last week from one of the management to say i now needed to attend an interview today so fingers crossed. I wont get any more info from EOS until mid May so not sure when that training course will start.

have you guys been offered CREW or IAC?

I had stage one for IAC today and went very well indeed. Invited back on Tuesday for stage two. The job sounds AMAZING - my only hesitation is with the money....

27.6k a year at the most ?!

Hi there. Ive been offered the job as Cabin Crew starting on the 19th May. If you think 27K is not a lot then I suggest u attend the interview for IAC and see what is involved.!!!!!!!!! Don'tget me wrong, i think its a great role for the airline but after going through the whole interview process for that role, i know u need to be totally commited to selling the company to every pax on board and that is what my intentions where at the IAC recruitment!!!! I have however realised that my best role in the industry with ANZ is that of Crew which I am more than happy at accepting at an extremely lower salary!!! Air NZ are such a relaxing and friendly airline to be a part or that after 9 years of flying i know ive found the perfect airline for me! I hope you find that ANZ could be that airline for you. All the best with recruitment.

The money is good, sure, but it's not what I'm earning on BA at the moment. The problem isn't with WHAT they pay, it's with HOW it's paid.

At BA, my basic is less than half that of the Air NZ salary offered. That's paid as a fully-taxable earnings amount. The allowances that make up the bulk of BA crew's earnings are paid differently and AREN'T fully taxed.

So while earnings at BA aren't actually as high as people like to believe, we do get good take-home pay becuase we don't pay tax on the full amount (but the amount we don't pay tax on is used for living expenses down route).

At ANZ, I believe that 18k is a basic paid in the UK and thus fully taxed. 12.5% of the salary can be added as performance bonuses and these will, I assume, be fully taxed.

There is another 7k in there as fixed rate allowances and I assume that these will be taxed differently.

The money is, if I'm offered the job, the only thing that might hold me back.

I want that job.

Hi there,

To be honest i cant remember them telling us how those allowances would be taxed so thats a good question to ask them. Ive just been accepted as Crew with them and start on the 19th May so i wish u all the best and hope to see you online with ANZ soon. It sounds a great job, one which i also would of taken if offered but things happen for a reason. At least ive now got a position with the company i have wanted to fly for for a long time.
