Air NZ Longhaul Contract Negotiations

I'm going to have a crack at posting this, but there don't seem to be that many NZ hosties around.

As we all know, the contract negotiations will commence in a few months. FARSA has called for remits as they want our input on what we want the contract to look like.

One suggestion from a colleague was that FAPCs who are called out as FAPS, or act as FAPS during the duty, should receive the FAPS salary for that trip.

Another suggestion was that we should get into the contract "the Company agrees that no new offshore crew bases shall be opened". Difficult, but worth a try?

Your thoughts?

Totally agree with the suggestion about called out and being paid when working up a rank/position. Problem is Air NZ say there are no ranks or positions below ISC that we are all just FA's but that is so much BS.

Do the remit. This is your chance to have your say.

But how about supporting your Union also. How many of the crew actually take the Unions advice and either sit down or suspend the service when seat belt sign is on. Not that many. But so many have no trouble asking what the Union are doing for them.

If we arent prepared to help ourselves, then we will simply find ourselves..... beyond help.
