Because they are coming onto a worse scheduling agreement apparently,although I cannot pass judgement on this as i dont know what the Flybe scheduling agreement is. Ours is seen as an improvement and therefore ex BA Connect crew shouldnt get the pay off.

And this is the company who sold themselves as being a fair and generous employer with all cc on the same agreements and contracts - how quickly we found out that was a load of tosh

This payment malarky is going to drag on for months

Of course it is.the only hassle is - what is going to happen about the summer leave bid?March rosters are being written,and this sees the beginning of the summer season and also of easter half term,no doubt some parents will be wanting that off. how are they supposed to bid?

we havent been benefited with the merger,at all.quite the oposite in fact.
if this schedulling agrement goes ahead,we will be back working 6 days on 2 days off,and this change is due to the merge.Seniority is going to go,due to de merge and the moaning is quite annoying to be honest with you.

Just as a matter of interest how many weeks holidays did you get with bacon,and how many weeks you get now if you choose option B,which allows you to have 5 trump days on a row and 4 wrapping days?

You now if you sell your contract,i want to sell mine too becouse i was very happy with my old scheduling agreement and now becouse of this merge,we have to change it for the worse for nothing,whereas you,get some money out of it,and some is better than nothing surely.

Has it not occurred to you that you are now also being strung along - anything that the company want in the agreement they can blame on the merger. If you don't like it vote NO it really is that simple.

please bear in mind that because of the merger, ex Ba Connect crew were put onto a scheduling agreement,with worse terms and conditions that they did not want,for nothing.

So, now that you are in the same position, do you see why it went as far as a ballot for strike action before, and why it is probably going to be a no vote this time around?

What would you have done if the acquisition of BAConnect by Flybe had not occurred?

I'm just thinking laterally about the losses that BAConnect was experiencing (up to £40million per year I believe).

Naive - no, not after 10yrs in this industry...just practical.

Whatever the number, BACon was losing money and clearly BA wanted out rather than investing to turn it around. My view is that Connect struggled due to a more competitive environment and due to the fact that certain BA procedures had to be followed, tieing the hands of those in control of Connect.

A business needs to change within a changing marketplace or otherwise suffer at the hands of the competition. Unfortunatley timing is everything and Flybe got it right by ordering props when everyone else ordered regional jets. It could so easily have gone the other way when BE ordered their CRJ's only to ditch them after a couple of years! Had they not then it is fair to say that BE would not be around today and Connect may well have taken their place as the major domestic operator within the UK.

I know that Flybe have done BA Con a favour by quite literally saving their bacon
However, I dont see what that has to do with the point I was trying to make to Caramelo about how it feels to be in someone elses shoes.

I know I have said it before but it doesn't seem to be sinking in - BA Connect was set up to sell - if BA had wanted to operate regionally they would have made the profits - they didn't want to so they sold it, flybe aquired it, some of us don't like it. We all know where the door is, a lot have already used it, a lot are planning to soon and when we have all gone certain people will be extremely happy

A new uniform team is being set up by a very stylish lady in manchester and trust us trousers will be on the agenda!!!-- there will be lots of changes as the company goes forward. all good so watch this space.

Flybe at Glasgow

I have been invited to an interview at Glasgow next week and I have been on their website just checking out some details. However it never mentions salary and Im keen to know if I am wasting my time applying for this position based on my current salary.

I know it will be basic pay but just not sure how much you get on top of that for flight pay and if they work on commission as well..?

Anyone have any answers..

How often does the average cc member have to evacuate using the slides during a working life? Less than once, I bet. And with it on fire as well???

Honestly, it's a risk I'm prepared to take, to avoid having to wear trousers.

So to follow the logic of trousers looking unprofessional stewards have no place in the airline industry (or men in the work place in general)? People, this is the 21st Century! The changing (modernising) styles of women's dress is closely linked to the advancement of women socially, particularly in the workplace. Imagine trying to squeeze down the aisle of a Q400 in a crinoline!
