Flight Attendants in Australia

I have recently emigrated to Perth Australia. Having worked as Cabin Crew for two airlines in the UK I was hoping to continue my career, however there seems to be little opportunity for this at present. I thought Qantas was going to have a new base in Perth any news on this.

Well, Sunflower, unfortunatley, in OZ, we just don't have the airlines out there to choose from, up until recently, we only had 2 big ones to choose froand a few regional airlines, which are probably heaps more fun to fly for, but pay less, no with Virgin blue, and Impluse coming in, it is expanding slightly, but that is only in the East coast, Sydney, Melborne, and Brisbane. When I joined 10 years ago, it was only 1% of applicants got through, there are just so many people ans so few positions, but your experience may help, as for Qantas startying up in Perth, no idea, Ansett has a base, but they don't employe straight into there, you have to take your chance nationwide, maybe after a few years you'd get sent bak to Perth. Sorry it's not great news, but its better to knoe the truth, isn't it? Good Luck!

Sunflower, if you aren't restricted to flying in Perth try the Qantas regional airline scheme were you work for two years in a regional and then transfer to Qantas mainline. It's a great way to to get into QF, otherwise try National Jet Systems in Perth. They fly Bae 146 a/c.
Good luck.
Good luck.
