Unhappy CABIN SAFETY DEMO

Are cabin crew allowed to demonstrate their safety procedures during actual take-off as I was recently flying with Pakistan intl(PIA) from Lahore to London on a boeing 747 and the safety demo was demonstrated by the crew just after the aircraft took off from Lahore and was actually climbing.

Yep - about 1986 taxying out at FUE on an Aviaco F27, the cabin attendant appeared from behind the forward galley with a tray of ice cold drinks.Once delivered to pax she then decided now was a good time to carry out the demo bearing in mind the drinks were to cool down the pax. During climb out she demonstrated the life jacket but not the seat belts !! Mmmm
needless to say I arrived in ACE in one piece - just. Ice in the glass had melted though !!

Red face

It shouldn't have happened, as the whole point of the safety demo is to make sure passengers know what to do should an emergency occur particularly during any of the critical phases of the flight -- such as take-off! Thus the demo should be shown before take-off.

Hmm, would anyone from Pakistan Air care to explain their policies on this?

Well good question Radio flyer that's what i wanted to know because usually the safety demo on PIA's 747/A310/A300 are shown on the inflght tv's just before the aircraft taxis.
As far as i know the inflight tv's were working because the holy prayer was shown.

The answer is positively, definitely, absolutely NO NO NO!!! As was said above all info given during the briefing is pertinent to all phases of the flight. What would have happened if an emergency had occurred during the run-up to the take off or the take off itself?
"Oh by the way the emergency exits are that way ... no no not that way ... that way!!!" Hmmm???
"May the night stops be long and the allowances never ending!!!"

Thumbs down

That's very strange ,PAX safety is very important ,the demo's should always be done on the ground ,preferably even before push-back.
