QF f/a interviews - how did you go ?
Hi,
Just wanted to see if anyone out there got a 2nd interivew with Qantas in Sydney this week and if so how did it go ?
I heard they offered some people casual f/a positions straight after the 2nd interview but some declined it !
Doors armed and cross checked !

I've met a couple of people that have got 2nd interviews!
I don't blame them for knocking back the casual positions though, conditions aren't great and there is no guarantee that you will even be eligible for fulltime positions if they come up...

I heard that some people knocked it back too because they in their sloppy 9-5 jobs the conditions were better, i was thinking if i got in to take even a casual position but the no guarantee of full-time work is pretty pathetic, one guy said that they wont employ you for more than 5 years so that they can get out of paying entitlements etc, thats pretty poor.
So much for the airline i idle, they are really disappointing a lot of people who have so much to give to their airline.
ohh well now they can go and start their recruitment of the thais and kiwi's.
hmmmmm...

the kiwi's started online 2 weeks ago they had about half the training schools full of ex ansett nz f/a who a few of are now flying for airnz
Addeco the recruitment company the qf f/a's actually work for have been burnt big time by f/a's crossing to airnz a couple up went in the last week of training but what do you expect when you offer poor conditions-$<>50,000 incl. of allowances, no OT, no staff travel they will only ever get nutters
who will do the job for anything. I'm surprised they are paying them so much

SO - Ansett have cynical and burnt out f/a's then? Well, it's a fact of life - in any large organisation, it is inevitable you will find people who aren't the best people for the job. However, Qantas are hardly free of cynical and burnt out f/a's themselves you know.
Before Qantas' cabin crew site Galley Gossip was closed down, there were numerous postings from many cabin crew who in no uncertain terms hated their job - and still crew flights to this day. What's worse is that nothing can be done to remove them and replace them with people who would make an excellent job as cabin crew. Remember this: should anyone become a new, enthusiastic f/a, you may well be surrounded by people much less enthusiastic as yourself.
Let's all remember that in the pursuit of a dream job, there is no such thing as a PERFECT job OR employer.

you can say that again about perfect employer- I've had many jobs over the years, but NONE have treated their staff so s hitfully as the airlines!!!!!!!!And with the EBA coming up, it just gets worse, they want you to work harder and harder, for less and less, it is becoming a joke, how do they expect people to feel?????????
