It is a pity they laid off some excellent staff at NCL. Is it not true that these people have been offered jobs if they give AMM their redundancy money back!

Quite possibly. But this is an Inland Revenue requirement. If you are re-employed within a certain time period you must repay the money as redundancy payments are tax free.
