Post Who has an Interview with Hazelton??

Hi guys and a big "HI" to "CABINCREW 2002"
Well guess what?
Hazelton are recruiting!!! Yes that great word..RECRUITING!!!!!!!
My friend has just received a phone call, and has an interview next week.
They are only getting names from Staff cv!! Unfortunatley I only applied for VB on staff cv, and have not yet paid the money to register with all of the airlines. But decided to call HR and asked if I could come for an interview, but she advised that they were only strictly taking people from Staff CV. And if I was registered with them, and met the criteria, I would receive notification. Sadley I am not a fully registered so I guess that I will be missing out...although she did advise me that all next year they will be doing some hefty recruiting!!!!!
Just curious if any one else got a call???

Great news Cloudy! Why don't you pay the dosh and register? Wouldn't you just HATE to miss out cos of a measly few bucks (yeah ok it's about 50 and it's nigh on christmas and all that but at least you get to apply for as many airlines as you like once you've forked out the initial dough). Although I must admit it is a teensy bit frustrating having applied to Hazleton through staffCV and hearing SQUAT. Does your friend have previous experience? Do they have a magic formula they're willing to share with the rest of us desparados? Heard they're interviewing ex AN and Flight Force crew. Also heard rumour they're planning on buying some of Kendell's CRJ aircraft, which would explain why they'll be heavily recruiting I guess (anyone help me out on this one?)

Dear Kem,

I know, I hate the thought of missing out, Im about to register. As for your question...my friend does not have FA experiance...just customer service experiance, like all of us.Be patient, Im sure you will get a call, when I called HR she said they have a long list they are going through and it will take time. I know that my friend had a choice of 3 interview dates. So Im sure you will get a call...Let us know, and good luck!!!

I've been told they were only looking for THREE people and those positions have all been filled! Did they tell you why they'd be doing some hefty recruitment next year?

Does it not seem odd to anybody that they are "recruiting" when they are are still in Administration?

I read that there was some genuine buyers in the wind - but its not sold till the sticker goes up.

Thumbs up

GOOD NEWS...my friend had her Hazelton interview today. She said it was REALLY relaxed, 2 on 1. They then called her a few hours later and told her she has the job!!!!!I'm so happy for her, she has what it takes. She is to start training on Jan 14 for 8 days, then provided that she ( and I know she will) passes medical/traing ect she will then sign her contracts!!!!
How cool. There were 200 applicants interviewed over 3 days. And 2 were choosen from SYD and 1 from Lismore.
Just to clear the regional pay structure up...
First 3 months ( whilst still learning) is $27,000 plus allowences.
First year on the job is $33,000 plus allowences.
The allowences are $5000 per year.
So all in all its not as bad as we all thought.

I wish her all the best!!!!She deserves it! <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> <img src="cool.gif" border="0"> <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

G'day Kely,
Sounds like the Ansett collapse was badly timed for you as Eastern have had FA starting every month since september, but Qantas dictated that ex Ansett employees get preference. The reason for the contracts at the moment are again at the direction of Qantas until they see what happens to Ansett/Hazleton/Kendell in the new year. Pilots are being employed on the same basis at the moment.
Eastern have an extra 3 aircraft arriving in the next couple of weeks with these aircraft also on a 12 month lease. These aircraft will be purchased if things work out OK and everyone on contracts will be offered a permanent position.
Talk also of replacement of some of the 100's (36 seat) with more 300's (50 seat), thus also requiring more cabin crew.
Apart from this further expansion of Eastern is planned. Flights from Melbourne to Devenport and/or Burnie commence in March.
FA's at Eastern still get progression to Qantas mainline when their time comes, but with more crew this probably means 5 years at the moment, but it also means more secure jobs for the new arrivals as those ahead move on.
Compared to Hazo's who are a good mob to work for but under administration, I would say the choice is easy, but I am sure others might have a different view.
Hope this helps, good luck with your choice. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Kely,

First of all congratulations and well done, welcome to pprune. The benefits are clearly better at Hazo's regarding pay etc but you have not been given a date off of them, and let's face it..there are not getting any new aircraft and are still in liquidation....doesn't sound promising.

Eastern is owned by Qantas....and...well are dominating the regional sky at the moment, they have given you a training date so go for it ! See what happens after 12 months - you may hate flying by then ? or you might be offered full-time because you have proven your worth.

It's your choice but Eastern ain't going no where, they are stable and expanding fast, they also have heaps of destinations on their network - I mean can you see yourself flying to Lismore every single day with Hazelton ? Exciting huh ?

Eastern is also a very competitive airline to get into, you have been chosen above many others, so get to that training school girlfriend !

Well done !

Well done Kely! What a decision huh? It's a toughie as Hazelton has a fantastic reputation for how they treat their staff and money sounds better than Eastern BUT like everyone else has said, who knows what's going to happen with Hazelton? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Any interview tips you can share with the rest of us would be greatly appreciated. What was Eastern's interview process like? You DO realise we're all insanely jealous don't you??!!! (meant in the nicest possible way)
Whatever decision you make, am sure it'll be the right one. Happy flying!
