Talking Channel Express still recruiting

I heard today that Channel Express are still recruiting CC's for work they have this summer ont heir B737-300QC's. I'm not sure if the work is STN or EDI based but it seems the CC manager is still looking. Might be worth a look and 28p for a stamp if you are still feeling the effects of the 11/09 incident. <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

Hope y'all are OK

Cool

Box,. ...maybe some of the Loadmasters are being offered the opportunity! <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> Nice little sideline...!

I heard that Channex fired a couple of cabin crew recently; true or false?

Have Channex relocated some CC to EDI or did/are they recruiting up there and whats the latest on more 733's?

Rgds, TL

(Fyi, not interested in the position - fun though it was...)

Ive heard it on very good form that they did terminate one of the cabin crews at STN.

Nothing to do with how well she worked and professional she was for the company but the fact the Cabin Services Supervisor didnt like her ( felt threatened by her knowledge and experience) so found a excuse to get rid of her.

Not good when she was told in the middle of a airport sby duty. The remaining crew at Channex are all very shocked by this and at the end of the day thinking do you want to work for a airline that treats staff in this way????

This is not the first time that this has happened though as last summer the CSS found a way to get rid of another crew member when she complained about the bad standards and the way the CSS conducted things. This resulted in a different crew member resigning. Surely management should be looking into this?????

Its also a well known fact that a No2 has just been promoted to a No1 having been sacked from 5 previous airlines ... isnt that saying something?

All other crew are now afraid to speak up incase they are given their marching orders.. .The CSS was of course Channex's second choice maybe things would have been different if choice 1 took the job!

Bob...

Well I wouldn't like to comment on the Duty Free incident as I wasn't there but I assume you or a relative/friend/lover/etc was as you are so well informed. I notice you have just joined PPRUNE, 04/02/02, was that to represent them or yourself? Maybe you were already registered but are to afraid to reveal your indentity?

What about the XXX trip I understand that was even more interesting ..... ??? .My contact was there and like others was too scared to back up person who reported it for fear of reprisals. I would be interested to hear your or your friend/relative/lover/etc point of view on that...

Anyway the person who has gone now has had cards of support and concerned crew over to see her. I m sure she ll be off to a company where ALL the crew work on the SAME TEAM for the safety and well being of the pax and their collegues rather that stabbing those crew members in the back because they aren't 'in your gang'.

Good luck to all of you Channex hopefuls! <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Bob

My information is neither 3rd hand nor based on any grievances - just fact from various close sources.

If you and your friends feel so incensed then perhaps they should also post their reasons. But 3 people out of the whole of Channex - hardly a majority view is it? And thats assuming the 2 people you mentioned actually agree with you.

Also I notice you neglected to comment on the Seville incident. Why was that I wonder?

I believe it is a case of self-censorship...no post from moderators, so can't be them!

OK kids

I've read all the posts on here and to be quite honest I'm quite irritated by some of them, in particular pilotwolf and his one sided argument about how this poor cc1 got sacked by the terrible dictators at Channex.

yes they did terminate her but there were many reasons that I have heard about and she was on a sticky-wicket for a while as I understand. she caused several problems which I will not go into but needless to say the 'duty free incident' in Germany didn't help at all especially not when the fleet captain was on that particular flight. All of the CC's Channex have are very pleasant people regardless of their previous employment history, I try not to judge until I meet people and actually see what they are like. I've heard little discontent except for this one individual who had a habit of finding trouble.

Pilotwolf makes channex out to be less than fair to its employees but in real life they are more than fair and in fact are a VERY stable place to be right now especially considering the current climate in the aviation world <img src="mad.gif" border="0">

I look forward to reading the reply which will no doubt follow from pilotwolf and his cronies

Firstly, BoxJockey99 I assume you don't work for Channex as your original post is asking for information about them recruiting. My contact does - my info is probably more reliable?

My argument is only onesided because BdB apparently accidently deleted his posts,(not yet worked out how to delete multiple posts myself...), and couldn't be bothered to repost them. Obviously he has decided that they either aren't as accurate as he first thought or he has changed his mind on his version of the facts and can no longer stand by his remarks - I can.

I am not making out the company to be unfair to its employees just certain low level managers. The company is obviously very professional as it seems to support its junior managers whether they are right or wrong.

We are all irritated by various posts - that's life. But as they say the truth often hurts!

A warning shot across the bows, folks....

This one is sailing fairly close to the wind. Be careful you don't leave anything up here sufficient to identify people, and if you have serious allegations to make, then you'd better be prepared to give the PPRuNe Admin team your full details before posting them.

Understand? Basically, it's OK up to now, but keep it clean, and public domain only.

Pilotwolf

since the moderator tells us this subject is on a bit of a stickywicket, I've withdrawn my last post. lets just say I know what I'm talking about on this one and remember that no one is perfect and that there are always 2 sides to every story, what you get told from your side isn't necesarrily totally true ie there may have been other factors involved that the person in question may have neglected to tell you or even ben aware of problems that they have caused directly or indirectly.

Hope this settles it! . .Box

Pilot Wolf, I think BoxJockey is a little closer to Channel than you might think! Regarding the matter at hand I think few people would want to slag somebody off on this forum but suffice it to say (speaking as one who knows) that few tears will be shed on the 737 flight deck or in Channex HQ.

hh rip, regarding 737 pax flying a busy programme has been fixed for the summer and parking fees at STN and EDI will be much reduced in the very near future.

just the thought of you in a PVC outfit with a whip is enough to get us flight deck people all excited and aflutter!! I thought I had calmed it down a bit and yes the original post was merely saying that jobs may be in the offing!!

OK I ll agree to leave it there then, I did not see your last post before it was deleted, Boxjockey99 so can't comment on it. But as a final remark I have never denied there are two sides to every story and indeed pointed that out in my posts.

But if people are not prepared or able to identify themselves I think it a little unfair to make desisory remarks about someone who is unable to defend herself.

Whilst my profile is clear for all to see I too am not prepared to reveal my connection with Channex - that would be unfair on all who have posted here - but lets say mine too is very close.

Thumbs down

Would this'd be the same Channel Express that don't bother to ever reply to some pilots that have applied, then been through their 'trick cyclist' s**t and interview, plus a sim assessment ?

We're talking here of a company which asks an applicant to jump through all their crock-of-sh!t hoops, but which subsequently could not be bothered to send any sort of response, i.e. not a yes, or a no, or even maybe, or indeed anything !

Certainly, and as far as I'm concerned, it's their loss - and to think that I nearly left a much better job, with a much better company, earning considerably more, with much better terms and conditions, to work for them - to be fair, I had my doubts all along, but their subsequent ineptitude just confirmed it.

Just my two-penneth ..... I hope it helps to paint the picture of the kind of company that they are, or at least as they presented themselves as to me.

"and to think that I nearly left a much better job, with a much better company, earning considerably more, with much better terms and conditions, to work for them "

just out of interest... "Why did you apply in the first place?" if it was all that awful at channex? <img src="mad.gif" border="0">

Everyone knows Channex is a night freight company and don't have shiny electric jets etc and all that so why even look if you were already sitting pretty?
