Zed Travel
Hey Guys,
I recently booked a ZED high ticket LHR-SFO. I was charged 244USD for the ticket before tax. (120GBP). I checked the price and saw that to travel LHR-SFO the price is 120USD. I questioned this and was told by my company that the price of 244USD is correct. I really think this is wrong does anyone have any ideas.??

Is that return? If so, it sounds about right to me. It all depends on your airline and the arrangement they have with the operating airline. There are different levels of ZED fares (ZM etc) and they can work out to be more expensive than ID90 fares.

ZED = Zonal Employee Discount
ZED was formed in 1994 for leisure travel arrangements of airline employees travelling on another carrier. The system of ID fares (ID90, ID50, etc.) was based on a % discount off the published full fare price for a route given a specific origin and destination for each ticket. To allow for more predictable fares, easier interline trip planning and ticketing, ZED created travel zones with specific pricing.
Airlines in the ZED framework have varing agreements with their partners. These differences include the level of ZED fare charged (ZH, ZM, ZL for ZED high, medium and low) as well as embargoes and restrictions on code shares.
Hope this helps.

Try the GO ZED site: http://www.gozed.com/
It's all explained and as long as you have your airline code, you'll be abble to calculate the different ZED fares according to the interline agreements your airline have with others (High, Medium or Low).
