Hair!
What do you ladies do with your hair when flying? I'm sick of ponytails, having a haircut tommorow and thinking about get a choppy bob, apparently 'hair my touch, but not fall below the base of the collar.'

Have you tried buns? If you look around the net there are quite a few sites aimed at long-hairs that have galleries and articles filled with instructions on how to make simple, quick, elegant, secure buns that look great for a whole day. (www.longhaircommunity.com is one such). Speaking as one of the frequently self-loading freight, I would guess that shorter hair would actually be a lot more effort to manage - you may be sick of ponytails (and I can't blame you), but with shorter hair if you want to get it out of your face you don't even have that option, and whereas with long hair I can braid it in two minutes or wrap it around my fingers and secure it with some nice-looking "hair toy" or barrette in even less time than that, short hair requires a lot of maintenance - styling, trimming, etc. (Plus, if you *do* happen to like long hair, buns protect it very well, so it will stay in better condition.)
Just a thought. (I'll have you know I stopped lurking and registered to say all that, that's how distressed I am by the thought of hair cuts!)

Get yourself a donut from Boots, they are about £5. I wear one everyday as I have VERY long hair. Once you get into the habit it takes about 5 minutes in the morning to do and last as long as you want. I did a fourteen 1/2hr shift the other day and it was still as perfect as when I put it up in the morning.

vodkaholic,
They are sooo easy to use. Put your hair in a ponytail, secure with a thin bobble, put donut over top of bobble, lean your head forward and wrap the ponytail round the donut and finally secure with a scrunchie etc
I decided to have my hair cut into a short bob because i look a slap head with it tied back

IIRC you get instructions in the pack. I put my hair in a plait around the donut because it is so long. I also use thick bobbles because my hair is very thick too. You don't see them. You will need to kirbygrips to tuck stray strands away too.
