It doesn't matter, but neat and tidy is the order of the day. One of the standards for girls is hair no longer than 30cm if in a pony tail. Useful to try and keep to our standards even during the interview process.

Leave BA Longhaul for Qantas UK??
Hi Guys,
Just wondering if any experience QF UK cabin crew could advise...would you leave BA Longhaul LHR for Qantas UK?? Been at BA for 3 years, very lucky in that I made it to Longhaul LHR in under 2 years, am first class trained. Have flown a total of 15 years...In a tread I read about the flexibility you have with your rosters/ability to trade, fly trips back to back, etc...I was also wondering what the promotion process is like/waiting time, etc. At BA as things stand I can't see being eligible for promotion before 7-10 years (you have to fall within a seniority range to be invited to apply for Purser). Any info anyone could pass along would be most appreciated.
Many Thanks!

^ My best friend works long haul for BA (me? I'm VS all the way...) and she also said something similar about having to be around years to get purser as it's done on seniority but one of her fellow crew said they'll have to change that now as you can't discriminate on seniority ((some lardy-da EU law!))
Not about Qantas i know but it might help your decision if you know you might be able to become purser sooner!

Can you imagine doing SIN BKK or HKG (constantly) for the 'eurogatwick-esque' division of QF with no box payment??
My mate was crew with QF-UK up until about a year ago. Maybe someone from QF can PM Muizemburg and let him/her know what the allowences are for a SIN or HKG. Its not my place to display such information.

LOL - I'm with QF in the UK and was flying LH out of Australia before that (up on transfer from Aus).
To be honest Muizenberg it depends on what you're looking for. Yes, you're probably more likely to be promoted quickly within Qantas than BA. To give you some idea, there are 2 people who started flying with Qantas when the base first opened and have been promoted to CSM (like your CSD) in less than 2 years. However, you are going to fly less routes and you are going to earn less money.
But if you're looking for a smaller base and probably more flexibility with rostering then again you'll probably get more of that with Qantas.
BA, however, is often seen as the pinnacle of LH flying and you guys do seem to have very good conditions, so I can definately see the appeal.

I thought that all the main crew on the Asia-UK Sectors were UK based but that the senior crew remained Australian?!
If I'm wrong, that's very interesting.
