Excellent! I'm soooo excited! Are you moving to Gatwick for the training? Just debating what the best options are...

Hey Airhostess Dream,

Sorry for the late reply, I've been a bit busy over Xmas! I've been flying for 3 years and I love it, the perks are that one week I'm shopping in New York, the next I'm sun bathing in St Lucia, the next I'm partying in Vegas and the next I'm sightseeing in Hong Kong (well, with maybe a tiny bit of partying there too )

The pay is actually ok, we all live to our means, and everyone is in the same boat. I can afford to live the kind of life I want, I'm just not overly bothered about being rich!

Down sides are that I never get Christmas or New Year off, I work most weekends, miss lots of my friends birthdays, and im often really tired!

You'll soon see that you dont do this job for the money, you do it for the lifestyle that comes with it. Its really fab.

Oh, and working for Virgin you look by FAR the smartest, proudest and most glamourous when you're on the car park bus at LGW! (despite what Monarch crews obviously think of themselves!)

Hi -- just wondering if anyone has gone to an interview while still waiting for a National Insurance number? Someone told me it's not a problem as long as I have a letter stating I've applied for one -- but wondered if anyone else has been in this situation?

I did -- it's just that the person answering the phones kept having to put me on hold and ask someone else my questions, as she didn't know, and even then she still wasn't completely sure, but just said she "thinks a letter will be fine"
I guess it will be ok, I just wanted to make certain I wasn't going for nothing since the NI takes about 8 weeks!

As long as you have the ni number by the time you start training you'll be fine. BAA requires your ni number in order to approve your airside pass. just take the letter with you to the interview. it has no baring on the outcome of your interview, but make sure your 5 year history thing is perferct! only two people out of the whole group had perfect 5 year history forms including all dates, contact names numbers email addresses and fax numbers. we both got the job. not to say that if it is not perfect yo wont, but it is certainly an added bonus if you do. good luck to everyone...

anyone else starting on the 15th?

Thanks IJWTF!!
One more question - what was the time frame between your interview and your training start date? I've been told that the NI number can take a few weeks if they're busy???? My appointment for a NI number is on the 11th so I'm going to ask them if I can get a temporary number right away...... If not - hopefully it won't take too long.

Virgin crew buses

Was wondering if anyone knows how the crew buses work to and from LHR and LGW. Do they run to fit in with the report times at each base. Eg, rpt time 0730 Lgw, is there a bus that leaves roughly 0630 from LHR to get crew there for the report time or are they just totally random. Thanks.

My interview was on the 5th of December. i found out I had the job on the 11th. I start on the 15th of January. One of the girls I met received a phone call that night, but I think that is pretty rare. Another girl only found out a few days ago, that's over two weeks. I think they like to keep things random, and keep people guessing, which is fine if you get the job, but terribly disapointing if you don't.

With regards to the crew bus, you will get a timetable with your joining pack. They start at about at 0435 from LGW and 0545 from LHR and leave approximately every hour until around 2000. Not sure what happens if there is a major delay, and you don't get bak until after 2000.

Happy New Year!

I agree with those who said wear a skirt. VS is a no-trousers airline (for the girlies, anyway...) so probably best to wear a smart skirt, straight, just above the knees, and sheer tights/stockings.

Virgin Atlantic Interview Prep

Hi Guys,

I have an interview with Virgin atlantic on the 4th of January. Its my first interview for any cabin crew related job so am a bit unsure as of what to expect. I've tried posting questions on the main thread but had no response as yet!

Can Somebody please tell me what kind of questions they ask you in the maths test? Do they expect you to be able to do long multiplication and division? coz if so, I'm going to have to rummage through my attic and get my maths books out! Any examples of specimen questions would be fantastic!

Also what does the group assesment involve and what sort of questions will they ask me in the 2-2-1 interview?

Somebody...... please help!

Sam x
