Does anyone know if VIRGIN BLUE are opening another base for Cabin Crew?

I have heard rumours of Sydney, Adelaide or Perth?

Any news?????

These rumours have been going around for years. No plans for a new base that I'm aware of, however with possibility of international and regional flying.. who knows.

Tech crew pairings for the new EBA come in 2 sets - 2 base pairings and 3 base pairings - the 3rd base is listed as being Sydney

MEL Cabin Crew Management have indicated that they believe there will be a 'satellite' base in ADL that will come under MEL.

Wont be required IMHO if the EBA goes through under the company's rules as we will be doing more day trips and saving money on hotels anyways. If they dont get there way then I would expect SYD as the 140+ rooms a night there would possibly equal what a base would cost to run.
Thats my two cents anyways.
