Sorry for being facecous......

Some suggest that with the introduction of the "Whale" QF will need more cabin crew.
This might be the case however our 747 300s are approaching 20 years old and may well be retired at this time so the number of crew needed may not change.

The howard "governments" anti employee laws will make the FAAA's efforts to maintain the cap on foreign based crew VERY difficult if not impossible.

geoffstar international will be taking over much of our regional [international] flying and eventually it seems our long range stuff too.

These developments indicate to me at least that CC recruitment at qantas is effectively finished with regard to Australian based crew at least.

An internal notice was recently put out asking for applicants to help with recruitment..........

AKL based crew have been leaving in drove such are the conditions of their employment and UA are recruiting in BKK for cabin crew and many indicate that they will be leaving to take up positions.

I think that the only recruitment we will see will involve the maintenance of numbers in our "revolving door" bases.

AKL crew leaving in droves? That's exactly what they want. Young, fresh, very enthusiast positive go-for-it crew who love what they do and enjoy the novelty of it for a few years. Smell the coffee.

Good luck with your application Jetcrewnw

Actually it would be great if they stayed for a few years but they more often than not spend more time in training than flying.....and the coffee is very poor instant at that...
