NEED A JET* job

Dear all

I have been made redundant by United Airlines after 11 years of hard work at Sydney airport ground crew. I want to fly, can somebody advise me whats happening with jet*, good company?. I heard you are getting new aircraft in may and will be flying to the USA come 2007?!?
Is 40 too old to be accepted? ( MALE )

Thanx guys

Hi Petri

Very sorry to hear about you and your colleagues at UA in Syd. Most distressing I'm sure.

JQ are constantly recruiting. 25 new crew in SYD are being sourced right now, with a possible 25 more later on following more aircraft deliveries.

40?! TOO OLD?! Don't be silly - we have crew from all walks of life! Please apply - you have nothing to lose, and you get to work with some great people.

Recruitment for Intl won't be for a couple of months at least yet. Jury is still out with regard to how many outsiders will be recruited, but either way, movement will occur in both Domestic and Intl ranks. Same for ground staff.

Check out the Jetstar website for more info. Our EBA is available from wagenet.gov.au.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm still waiting for my PR, not til Oct/Nov, so I'm keeping a close eye because I want to return to flying. Thanks for that response MrSeatback2, I'm also interested in Jet* Int'l.

AEROCARE, Patricks will be doing the groundwork, with a couple of UA reps. EBA finishes NOV2006 then its individual contracts!!!I am so out of there.
If I go for ground crew work is it then possible to apply/transfer for flying? I am so out of touch with other airlines as I have been with UA for so long. Thanx for all your support!!

Petriboy,

Sorry to hear about United. I was furloughed as a pilot back in November 2003 and am currently a pilot at JetStar.

The cabin crew at JetStar are first rate. Motivated, dedicated, really nice people.

Anyway, if that is what you want to do, go for it.

Good Luck.
