qantas shortlist, jetstar new recruits

any word on jetstar longhaul...
will qantas shortlist crew be given the opportunity for longhaul.
does anyone really know what is happening with the shortlist and why qantas continue to do recruitment drives but not emply.
i have been on the shortlist for at least 3 yrs and given the chance for a secondment which i took and now back on the shortlist...
people are flying way past us and we are still on the shortlist and only to find they are actually putting more on this list going nowhere.
why?

I would be very surprised if those on the QF shortlist actually made it into JQ Intl. Reason being is that the two are kept very much apart for a number of reasons, especially with regard to HR policies.

One may well pose the question that if someone on a QF shortlist can get into JQ, then why not the other way around? Fair question if you ask me.

Having said that, anything's possible! With the future of AO in some question, and JQ Intl less than 9 months away (immaculate conception perhaps? ), who knows what will occur, particularly once Work Choices legislation gets bedded down.

i am on the shortlist and have been for approx 9 mnths, i got a call last week saying that there are positions with MAM at the moment. They are currently doing SOMETHING with my application as i have had to fill out a medical renewal form and pay for another security check. So they at least look at the shortlist.

i hope they dont think from shortlist to mam but for some that will be okay but for those who already work for qantas it is not in our favour as we are permanent qantas staff shortlisted forever....
i want to see the light too internal staff have no chance and are caught in the middle job security or job satisfaction who wins.....
