Starting salary 29k, add on another 20k or so for overtime/allowances. Goes up 1k or so each year for a few years.
2 night layover in LA, some 2 night SFOs, 2-4 night PPT, NAN, APW, Asian ports mostly 1 nighters.
Casual and relaxed in general - crew not afraid of being disciplined for minor infringments which leads to nice working atmosphere. Ex-EK crew I've flown with particularly appreciative of this!
28 day rosters, usually 70-95 flying hours with 10-12 days off.
New recruits work only in economy class, can apply after a year or so to work in J, merit based, salary rise.
Undercrewed in general, especially on 777 (10 for 3class, 313 pax) so hard yakka during inflight service.
Bidding system fantastic - one request per month, assigned on 'last achieved request' basis, no seniority! Certain trips (ie day returns to Aussie) classed as undesirable and rationed out equally.
Probably won't be vacancies for awhile as many shorthaul have just transferred across to longhaul and 50-60 temps just laid off.
Hope this helps!
