Qatar cabin crew, please advise.
Hello everyone,
I'm thinking of joining as
cabin crew with QR, and would like to know more of how life is
it there. I am very concerned as you must have
understood what it's like the first time you were in Qatar. This is a very useful and helpful forum and I'm glad I popped by here!
Questions:
1. Do you have internet access at your apartment? Can
you use Msn Messenger and Skype? Is the whole flat
air-conditioned since it's hot in summer?
2. How many long haul flights to Europe a month estimately?
3. Sorry if this is sensitive, but how much do you
earn a month, including the meal allowances? And after deducting luggage and other fees?
4. Do you fly out of the country during your days off? What is a normal day like and what do you do on a day off?
5. Are the things there expensive, eg groceries or
movie tickets, etc as compared to your home country?
6. Is it easy and cheap to get the sub load tickets?
7. Is dental covered or just medical?
8. If you don't drive, is taking taxis the only form of transport? No subways or buses?
9. How many days of layovers for eg. in London?
10. Are you able to request for flights during 1st year of flying? How many stand bys normally?
11. Are Singaporean crew well-liked in general?
I would really appreciate it if anyone could answer all my
qns and give some insight and advice about living in
Qatar, and am definitely grateful for your help. I am from Singapore and it's very modernised in my country, so I'm not sure how conservative Qatar is. Thank you very much!

Ashley,
Hopefully my reply will not be removed this time...try the search function and you will have answers too numerous to mention but which will cover almost everything you may (or may not) wish to know about QR!
Not for the feint hearted!
Cheers
