I need a good suitcase!
Having just put in my third claim in 18 months for a new case, I was wondering if anyone knows of a hard wearing wheeled case for trips of 5 - 10 days. I've tried Antler pulsar, quartz x 2 and Samsonite 550 series but none have survived. There are still girls at my base walking round with delseys from the dan air days (however they do weigh as much as a small car) - I must be doing something wrong! Any suggestions welcome, thanks.

It is true that Delseys are very heavy, even when empty!!
But they last for years and years. I've got 2 Delseys which have been flying regularly since Pontius was a pilot (and that was quite a while ago now).

I second (or is that 'third'?) the Delsey recommendation. If you get a wheeled one, the weight is not that important. They last; I have replaced wheels (easily) on one, and a 'Dan-Air vintage' case got junked last year - it HAD travelled, just a bit!

Eddy,
I have found the Samsonite 575 series Epsilon deluxe the best type of case I have had in all my years of flying.
Four wheels, easy steering and very low fuel consumption
Sadly, I believe Samsonite have just stopped producing this particular model, but perhaps someone here knows a place you might still be able to get one.

The one you've got is nice, what with four wheels and all, but I don't like the brown faux-leather strappy bit on the top..... Does it come without it?

Have you looked at the Rimowa Salsa cases?
A little expensive, but ultra lightweight and very strong.

I work in the mis handled luggage department for my company which handles a few different airlines.
My choice would be a hard samsonite. They are the best and are what ek issue to all thier crews.
Make sure you get the one that was manufactured in europe and not asia. The asian ones are not as good - yes believe it or not there are two different types of samsonite.
