GB/BMED

Hi i'm fairly new to all this and this is my first post on here so go easy on me please.
I recently have been to interview/assessment days with both GB and BMED.
I didn't get GB but start BMED soon.
At no time at either interview was the other company mentioned.
There is no mention in my contract or terms/conditions of employment to anything relating to GB.
I would have thought that if a merge of some kind was imminent then there would have been a mention somewhere?

Having said all that, if a merge were to happen I personally wouldn't mind if I had to fly GB's routes as well as BMED's but I'm not so sure the GB guys would feel the same in reverse. if that makes sense?

If it ever were to happen i think there would be a clash with the wages. I understand that BMED have a far better working schedule & appear to earn more than their collegues over at GB. I guess it all depends if you like a mix of long & short haul flying! Even though BMED operate to some rather unusual destinations they are quite fascinating & educational places to visit. Rumour has it that BMED may start a new route to Xian in China under the BA banner.

SS, I don't think that is the way it works....I think convention has it that you tell the financial people in the city first, then your employees before any POSSIBLE future employees!

Companies come and companies go, and companies merge all the time. Differing wage structures and T&C's and just two of the numerous issues that get resolved along the way. As such they will not stop any merger - I'm not saying there will be one, btw.
