Not sure who you have me confused with QFSKY, I am more concerned about the conditions in QF being eroded with the viewpoint they were providing us with a higher benchmark of conditions that we could fight to get closer to. It doesn't really help any of us with our long term furture in aviation if the highest standards of employment in Australia continue to get lower too.
Nothing much said at the forum this afternoon. We'll basically continue as usual until July, dropping HKG at end of financial year. Bali to go at end of this year. Daily trips to come as follows; 2 Naritas, 1 Osaka, 1 Nagoya, 1 Syd rtn and 1 Bris rtn, and possibility of picking up another route later (hints on Manila - aaaarrrrggghhh).
(And btw SKY the comment on the uniform was only from comments I've heard - hopefully it's just people's uncertainty that makes them say things like that during stressful times like this...)

My crystal ball is all shined up ready for the next prediction..
When I heard about this announcement I didn't think it was bad at all for AO crew. What it does do is put things into a status quo. The difference being that now the crew will wear the QF uniform (which they were already wearing part of anyway!) and be on a wet lease agreement.
Contrary to what someone else has said, a wet lease agreement can continue for many years - it is not always a defined time. I expect that the AO crew will now be endorsed on the 767-300 ACE, though I very much doubt that there will be any cross crewing with AO and QF mainline. That would create unnecessary stress and there is probably no need to do that anyway.
This is a good short term fix but this of course makes me wonder what they have planned for the longer term for the AO crew.
Interesting times ahead.

looks like crew will be allocated to work J class during briefing....no specific BFIRST crew ( does that mean the language speakers always get to work J class ? )
lets hope it's done in a 'fair and equitable ' manner
interesting to see how they are going to work this...
a shame geoff dixon didn't come and face the troops - especially when he was in CNS the day of the crew forum - terrible.
R.I.P AO ...you were a great little airline

we have a future
wet lease is wet lease - while we make money its all good - aka jet connect - or at the very least be seen as providing 'value' for money - if not well ........
so all AO crew still need to be aware of our long term aim - to be employed as a 'full service' cabin crew - i fully agree ill love the new uniform, better product and J class but if we become complacent we will at the very best be jet * I and at the worst be out of jobs or with MAME with no benefits and totally at the whim of the industry.
its your choice - i know my choice
please - your comments

Perhaps its time to reconsider the fact that division between FA groups within QF only benefits management and the lowlife that do their bidding.
The following is a cut and paste from the D&G forum.

We pilots are not "fine". AIPA negotiated in good faith a range of efficiencies to secure the AO flying including REDUCING mainline FO wages pegged to 7th year. (out of a 12 year scale). We came to Cairns full of high hopes and are just as committed here with kids in school and morgtages to pay....
Ahh Australia, the land where we cut down the tall poppies and delight in playing the politics of envy. I've just returned from a trip and witnessed the delight of our AO cabin crew revelling in their new found status as the "benchmark" for cabin crew T & C's in Australia... well wake up girlfriend.... who's to say some other worker like Jitconnect on 20 odd thousand won't be the next "benchmark" in a few years time....

For those here don't listen to flyagainoneday....We suspect he is one of the fear of flying mob in QCC in Sydney...in other words a management sell out...
The fear of flying mob are crew that used to fly and for their own reasons don't want to anymore and would love to see our conditions go down the tubs.Probably because they would love to be flying still but their partners will not let them ,so it comes down to jealousy...Bob the builder is a prime example,L/H crew know who I'm talking about
It's good that the majority of AO crew will remain flying and it still gives you the possibility to have a shot at other things if the opportunity arises.
AO was a good product but in this industryt nothing ever stays the same so stay in there

Then again look at flyagainhewishes location,
He/she is probably one of the strikebreakers who had to move to AKL to get a job and who would do anything to anyone to take a job even if the pay and conditions are pathetic. In this job with people like that you have to look over your shoulder because they will never meet you eye to eye..backdoor types

The only time I go to NZ is to stay in my beach house to get away from the likes of you. I have looked you in the eye many times my friend. One day you will work it out but for now I have coffee to serve at 45 000 feet. Hope we work again very soon.

QF don't want no union trouble.
If I were GD, I would get rid of all the AO crews. Don't want them destabilizing the others now do we???
It's sort of like the decision by DJ not to put ex Ansett people on the front line if I am correct.
