speedbirdhouse congrats you summed up the reality in todays airline environment. as i mentioned on another post the avergae manager has a lifespan of 5 years in todays corporate life, so lets maximise profits and bonuses. some of you may have seen in the afr wallstreet payed out a staggering U$ 22.5 BILLION in bonuses last financial year.

Well, BP 243 is out and let’s look at what has happened since we voted YES ..

well at least that is what the faaa has told us the result was but that is another matter…

FRA ..still only one night in Sing on the way home…

LHR…still the 31 and the 32 and the old slip still has not been re-introduced…

JFK…The company still has not replaced the 6 AKL positions with Australians even though we rolled over….

This is a little like the old ploy of an antagonist threatening again and again to kill someone and in the end shooting them in the leg and the victim believes they have won.

The company threatened to replace us with AKL crew if we did not vote yes ,even the faaa will agree with that.

Now that we have voted yes ,has the company given us our jobs back…..NO

What exactly has giving into the company achieved ?

What will the surrender advocates in the faaa suggest we do when the company blackmails us again?

Because that is only a matter of time.

New Year - New Forum - New Thread. This one has reached monster size, and for housekeeping reasons, I'd like to close it down and start afresh.

On a personal note, may I thank you all for the recent improvement in behaviour on this thread. This has justified the decisions both to keep the thread live and to invest my time in it. I'm aware that these are difficult times for the industry in OZ, and it is important that the issues are discussed, albeit in the traditionally robust manner of the area. I wish all of you good fortune in resolving the problems there.
