How would you help ........
...........a passenger travelling business class, if the tray is not able to be used due to lack of space for whatever reason. Sometimes the trays in the arms do not go far enough forward before being lowered so the passenger will have no tray for the journey which makes life difficult for eating and drinking and for that matter, working.
Also assume the flight is full so there is no spare seat/tray next to the passenger.
This is a serious question so please no comments about fat, thin, short, tall or anything else about the passenger.
Thanks

Hmmm, this is a real problem but one that's not easy to avoid.
I've just returned from New York and there was a large lady in one of our traveller seats. It was the breakfast service and you really don't need a lot of space to eat our breakfast as there is no tray.
This lady asked me to ask the gent infront to put his seat forward. I obliged. The man infront then said he would do so if the lady infront of him did the same. Sadly, she was sleeping.
For the main meal service, I always insist that people return their seats upright but for breakfast I won't, as these people have made a concious decision to skip breakfast and maximise their rest.
Sometimes, as much as you want to help, there is nothing you can do.

Hi!
I am the same and will ask any passenger to put their seat forward during the meal service, however if someone is asleep with their seat reclined during the meal service, i'm certainly not going to wake them and ask them to bring it upright, as it is their right to have it reclined. Unfortunately there's nothing you can really do in this situation. To be honest, i don't really understand the question, but....... If i have a passenger which is rather large and there tray table won't come down due to their stomach, i will usually discretely offer a pillow for them to put on their lap and then their tray on top of that. As for j/class pax, you can't really do too much either. If a large person is travelling in economy then they need to realise that they may have some space restrictions and may wish to consider purchasing a j/class seat instead, but that doesn't necessarily solve the tray table problem, luckily in j/class with the airline i work for, the tray table extends out quite far, so i haven't encountered that problem yet.
