Questions on Emirates, Etihad, Qatar and Gulf

Could anyone be kind enough to inform me which of these carriers accept male cabin crew and whether they have an upper age limit?

Thanks

age limit

Emirates does, NO AGE LIMIT, but chances of getting in above 33 are tough. They are much more lenient on age limits these days, years ago forget applying over 27. Sorry don't know about other airlines

I know Etihad were... but took a long time as only one male in each school... perhaps one of our EY newbies could tell us??? Not sure about age limit though.

Someone here the other day mentioned that Gulf are not recruiting males, I guess perhaps you could always email them and ask.... no harm in trying... =)

Your right Skysista, Etihad do recruit males.

777man at the moment im not sure about the age limit as they have been accepting older more experienced crew. As for training, its true, there is only a few guys per training group, mine had 4 which isnt common but i believe the minimum now is at least 2 guys per group.

The only way to get into GF if you are a male is to become a fully qualified chef, or a Bahraini national. Fat chance of wanting to be either.

I Just Want To Fly, would you care to share with us exactly what is wrong with being a Bahraini National? With a racist attitude like that your ambition to fly might just remain an ambition, and quite right too. You probably don't even know where Bahrain is on the map let alone what it's like to live there. Shame on you.

Emirates .... the set up, training facilities, route structure and career path (if that is what you are after) is more established.

Hi,

I know for a fact, EK have cut down on recruiting males (but not stopped) on the instructions of Shiek Mohammed so unless you are very lucky or speak Arabic you've got little to no chance of getting in....

Seen around the training college last week in AB training there was at least 1 guy on every batch. Mainly from Southern Hemisphere / UK / Europe / South East Asia.

If you are successful in the recruitment process regardless of gender or nationality it appears you will be offered a start date.

Keep trying

few wishy washy comments

sorry guys.

GARTHICUS... I have heard quite the contrary. It has always been difficult to get into EK being a male, and or older CC. They have relaxed the 27 max age limit for CC no experience and 30 age limit with experience, purely because they are finding the older CC are the ones completing their respective contracts and continuing into 2nd contract, whereas young ones get to Dubai and offended by the Arabic straight in your face way and leave after months, and or, can't cope with training. Surveys were submitted last year and the response from the pax was that they felt the CC at EK were excellent, however wondered whether there was enough maturity in their levels and enough authority in an emergency situation. So word has it, that EK is recruiting mature males, but it is still very, very tough to get in. The % ratio of female/male CC is starting to change, so don't know about the Sheik slowing down male recruitment. If he slowed down male recruitment, then in fact there would be no male recruitment.

9876.......not sure about your post. If you make the assessment centre, you need to do final interview, then extensive medical and reference checks. If all goes well, a position will be offered.
There was a time in 2003-2004 when EK was in a hireing frenzy and so many CC were being recruited that they need to put the breaks on a bit to reassess their totals and levels. Not enough CC for J and A class etc
They r in overdrive again, with the new fleet, if u make all the levels, expect a contract.

Hope this helps!

As far as I am aware that is all part of the recruitment process
cheers
