Anyone from REX (Regional Express)?

Hi everyone,
I put in an application to REX a week ago and it is now on file. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea as to when they'll be interviewing, and what kind of people they tend to take. What I mean by that, is would they like an applicant, who has a limited, yet excellent customer service record, but has also had previous experience in sea survival, firefighting, first aid etc... in both the training and the real world, through the Navy?

Cheers,
Redwings

Hi Redwings

I am ex Hazelton Airlines flight attendant, who got caught up with the Ansett debacle. Hazelton Airlines and Kendall Airlines then merged to become Regional Express. I was with REX for about 2 years before i left and returned to my previous profession of nursing.

Sounds to me that you have excellent skills to become a flight attendant.. I don't know of any other flight attendant that has been in the company with those skills but I am sure your application will catch someones eye.

Best of luck and if you are fortunate enough to get the job, which I am sure you will.... you will just love working there.. the pilots are so much fun and it is just like a big family...

Cheers

Redwings, if you're really keen on regional flying, apply for all the regionals (eg Eastern, Sunstate, etc). Someone with your background would be very valuable for any regional operator. Good luck!

Hey Redwings,

I had a missed call fom REX about two weeks ago, they didn't leave a voice message or anything and the only reason I knew that it was them was because I pranked the number to see who it was. They never called again and I never called them to see what they wanted.....I am assuming that it would have been for an interview, but I am currently working for Ek and am not really interested in moving back home at the moment. I just assumed that they saw I worked for Emirates aswell and would have known that I lived overseas, so never bothered to call back...who knows? I was not that worried though....I just got a job with National Jet Systems...flying for QFlink and that is a hard enough decision to make as it is...ha!! I don't need to confuse myself by going for more interviews.

So to answer your question.......they are interviewing at the moment. I think that they called me around the 24th of August....maybe you have just missed out this time, but don't stress, I am sure they will recruit again soon. Good luck with it all, I am sure that with your excellent customer service experience and all your skills you will hear from them very soon.

All the best,

Ekcrew

REX always seems to be hiring they have called me 3 times this year trying to get me in for an interview but I have always had other things on (and also because I got in somewhere else as REX was never really a first choice for me)...hang in there...they will call ya for their group interview.

If you're willing to head over WA way, NJS just hired a bunch of FA's (perhaps still hiring?), I know just in the last week or two Skywest have also taken on new crew. Give them a call, can't hurt!!

Skywest I believe go direct thru their website; NJS you can download the form or ask to have one sent.

I applied with NJS last year in Nov, they called me back in July but unfortunately I already got a job/commitments so unable to accept - pity as the crew in the PER base are great!!
