Qantas Applicants

Just curious if any of my fellow qantas shortlisters have heard anything recently? Would be interested if anyone is actually getting any jobs at the moment.
Cheers

Hi jesski,

Went for a 'strikebreakers' position back in October, was told I would be contacted, have now been waiting 10 months, but have gotten a job with JQ in the mean time. How long have you been waiting?

Its the worst thing being on a shortlist, because its just waiting for the phone to ring, if it ever will!!

Recieved e-mail from QF a couple of weeks ago advising me I had made it through the interview process. It said they didnt expect any positions to become available until mid 2006. Advised me not to expect to hear from them re medical and reference checks until March 2006.
With so many people on the waiting list why do they keep interviewing... Does anybody ever get a job???

qantas applicants

hey guys, yes i was the october strikebreaker too. I got the no thanks letter though. i know that they recently put on all the successful ones. fortunatly for me im on a holding pool with ozjet (whom i would much rather be working for)

Good luck to those..i guess you just have to keep applying and not sit around waiting. I know last year they did a mass recruitment so i would say this year will be quet.
having said all that the only airline i have never heard from is virgin.

OS and JL
thats really nothing to do with the topic......
i started this topic in the hope we can talk about trying to get jobs. and thats all.

I was interviewed in late september for the position of strikebreaker, however was not aware of this at the time. Never heard anything until jan when was invited for a panel interview. in may was invited for medical and in june informed i was successful and placed on a shortlist. In july paid for a security check.
The position on the shortlist was only valid for 6 months so if its true about mid 2006 i dont like my chances. *sigh*
in the meantime i have reapplied with virgin. Not that i have anychance of a job in brissie with them.
