Air France Cabin Crews?
Are there any Air France cabin crews on here? If so, I just wanted to know if anyone knows the requirements such as getting that certificate that is required for the French aviation, I know that speaking French is a must, how about having a EU passport? I know that Lufthansa doesn't require a EU passport, is Air France the same?

Yes, you do require a european passport for AF.
As far as the CSS is concerned, it is all done in french, it is in two parts, one written and one practical exam once you have passed the written.
Not to put you off but failure rate is high first time round, even amongst those who have flown several years already for a non french airline. It is good to follow a course to get you ready for the practical exam, but these cost quite a lot... so does the exam actually.
For details on the CSS visit www.dgac.fr (I think !), it's the french civil aviation department's website.

I have just checked & you will find info on CSS at www.dgac.fr then "espace professionel" then "examens du personnel navigant" then "CSS"
Good luck
Yes AF did go through phases of hiring without it but that did not mean you did not have to pass it ! You were hired, paid minimum wage until you passed the CSS and you had max 3 attempts, if not, OUT...
Now they have stopped those "contrats de qualification" & you need the CSS to be able to apply to AF...

AF hired without CSS in periods of need, when they could not find enough people already with CSS meeting all the requirements. At the moment you must hold the CSS to be hired.
I was hired without CSS, and AF paid for it (pre-2001). If you have to do it with a school, the cost is 1000/1500 Euros. It is not the simplest thing, but honestly, having flown before I didn't find it THAT difficult. You only have to study in a normal way. All the people I met who were serious about getting it, well, they just got it the first time round. All those who failed were the "predictable" ones who went to the gym instead of studying their books. It is true about the 3 attempts, but hey, if you stilll didn't get it the first 3 times, you'd better have a serious thought about your motivation!
Speaking French in a French registered aircraft is a requirement of the DGAC (French equivalent of the CAA). Having a EU passport is a requirement too.
