first day at BA.. what to expect?

Hi guys, hope you are all well! I finally start my BA training course tomorrow. I'm really excited!! Can anyone tell me what happens on the first day. Are there any tests? Is there uniform fittings? I thought that i was going to be shorthaul out of heathrow, but i read some where, that they actually tell you on your first day, if your shorthaul or longhaul......is this right?

Any feedback would be grately appreciated!!

see you soon. x X x

Hello and well done! Welcome to BA!

I started my training courser 6 weeks ago tomorrow. It was fabulous! You get measurred for your uniform this weds, and you get to wear it at the beginning of week two.

You'll probably be shorhaul Heathrow.. but yes your right they tell you on the day. But im almost 100% sure you'll be the same as the other recent courses.

Be prepared for lots of studying and hard work - your first exam is on weds on those First Steps to Excellence books!

There will be lots of fun times on the course too, but try to always be early and dont accumilate any points! They wil explain all about the point system tomorrow!

Take care and best of luck!

Thomas - Eurofleet Heathrow

Hello and welcome to BA!

I finished my training course ten days ago. You\'ll be measurred for your uniform this weds and you\'ll be wearing it on the following Monday.

Be prepared for lots of hard work and studying. your 1st exam is on weds about the 1st steps to excellence.

You\'ll have a great time and lots of fun. Im sure you wil be Eurofleet shorthaul Heathrow just the same as all the other recent courses.

Dont accumilate any points... all will be reveiled tomorrow!

Best of luck and take care!

Thomas - Eurofleet Heathrow

Thomas, thank you so much for your reply. It sounds a bit sad, but i'm really excited and can't wait to start. How have your flights been? Have you been anywhere nice?

Thanks again, safe flying!!

I just finished my training course. I loved it.
Loads of information during the five weeks.
My advice for those who starting :

If you want to pass all the exams. Study & Revise every night. But also have a break. You will need also to have a break times to times. U will need it, anyway, enjoy your training

Regards

Hello Everyone,

Two days ago they sent me "Congratulations" e-mail. Can you tell me how long does it take before they give starting date?
Do they give you any choice like with interview one or they offer you just one training date?

Thanks
BJG

Hello

The points system is how they "police" you during the course. You can get 6 before they terminate your contract!!!

Late for day or back from break =1
Failing exams =2 or 3
Failing resit = 2 or 3
bad uniform standards or behaviour = 1
No show = 4

ITS A MIRACLE ANYONE GETS THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you do!

You have to buy your own luggage and shoes!!

Cheers

Gosh that seems quite harsh! still i suppose it just means only those who really want the job get it! Sutdy, Study, Study!
Can't believe they don't provide luggage when they expect you to be away from home!
Do BA recruit pretty much all year round. Looking to apply next June. Or are they seasonal recruiters??? Cheers.
