Temporary job as cabin crew?
Hello!
I'm graduating next summer and thinking of applying to some airlines for work as cabin crew - at the moment I'm chasing a career in the RAF but I've not formally started my application, and I don't know how long I will have to wait for an answer / start date. Is pursuing a short term job on an airline a good idea, with regards to training etc? It would probably be between a year and six months.
How long did it take from application to starting work / end of training? And ... if I do apply, what airlines are good or bad??
Any feedback would be most appreciated!

Hi!
I don't know what it's like over your way, but down here if you were looking at a cabin crew position as a temporary position between jobs you would be wasting your time as it's quite hard to get in anyway, not like getting a job at the local supermarket. My friends father used to work as a Flight Attendant for the RAAF on the Prime Minister's aircraft etc. That's something to think about.

In the airline I work for it is quite normal for the Cabin Crew to be 'in between' careers and maybe hang around for a year or so. Management also expect a high turnover of cabin staff. It is also a fun airline to work for. Apply on easyJet.com!

Hi,
You will find that many airlines in the charter market only employ cabin crew for a 'season' anyway. This is normally summer. Try Thomas Cook or Thomsonfly (Brittania)
