Help on CX recruitment

I am trying to apply for CX and, for personal reasons, I would like to be HK based.

According to the Recruitment Hotline, I have good chances to be hired in LHR but I wouldn't succeed in HK right now because they are hiring only cantonese-speaking HK permanent residents (I'm a mandarin-speaking non-HK resident).

Does anyone know if LHR-based FAs only work on London-HK routes or happen to be based in HK for other sectors? How often would I be in HK?

Does it make sense to give it a try and just apply in HK although I can't speak cantonese? I have experience in China and can speak Mandarin, Hindi, Italian and German.

Thanks to anybody who might help!
