I understand a First Aid Certificate is required but I am confused which course is the one to take.

Can anyone advise me on this.

Cheers

Cheers for that.

I cannot find a course of that title.

Are you from New Zealand?

If not, I wonder what the equal would be?

flygirlnz, you could always call the airline and ask which is the acceptable one.

Or try St John Ambulance (or NZ equivalent), I bet they get people asking which one is for airlines all the time, they should be able to help you out....

NZ2, congrats to your sis!!

Both the St Johns and the rd cross run the courses in NZ...........just call in at one of the offices and they will let you know the dates of courses.

Thank you all for your advice.

I have contacted the St John's and will make a booking with them. The cost for their's and Red Cross is the same.

Cheers

thanks guys for all your support and encouragement!!!

its not for FA, its actually for CSA at AKL international (I think I posted about it a few pages back). Which I think will be just as exciting. I cant become an FA just yet as my eyesight unaided isn't to best and im too young for surgery. But im happy I have got in one way or another!!! Its been a long time coming since I applied back in April.

surfnetb, I know its hard and the wait is so long, but the excitement and relief afterwards is so worth the wait!!! good luck!!

Just got an email from Air New Zealand :

" ....We would like to provide you with an update on Air New Zealand's Flight Attendant recruitment.

We have completed our recruitment drive for International Flight Attendant for 2005. It is possible we will begin recruiting again in 2006, however we are unable to provide an indication of timeframes at this stage. Flight schedule changes as well as external forces such as world events all impact on our requirements for new Flight Attendants.

We will continue to hold your application on file, and contact you as soon as we are able to progress your application through the selection process...."

Have to wait and hope again

My sister got a similar email just now also.
Explaining that it would be highly unlikely for any training courses this year.
And if it takes more than a certain amount of time before they can progress the application then she may have to do a further assessment.

surf & NZ2, sorry to hear about the email.

NZ2, if I recall correctly wasn't your sister offered a job? I wonder what changed in the last few days for them to say they have no training schools.... hopefully she will get a start date early next year, but you would think they would want all staff available for the Christmas season!!!

She was offerd the job.
I think because of the 777 delay they don't need the extra staff as first thought.
The rumors are that the training courses will start again early next year.

Well, here's hoping she won't have to do the assessment again and go through the circus, a la QF....
