airnz just phoned me. they asked me to choose between my SH and LH applications. I chose LH, so they cancelled my SH app.
then they ring back 2 mins later to say they need to cancel both application as my unaided vision does not meet the requirements.

guess ill just have to wait till i can have an op for my eyes

450 people turned up (approx.), its took just under 2 hours and you only got like 2-5mins with the interviewer, the rest of the time was a presentation from a current crew member and being put into a small group and checking your application details.
They didnt do any activity's. I think thats the next stage.

The questions that were asked was:
1)Explain a situation were you have had to deal with a difficult customer and how you resolved the problem.
2)Why would you make a good flight attendant.

And that's all i can remember
(There wasn't many more questions!)

PS. it was Saturday.

I work for Air New Zealand, not as Cabin Crew but as a Customer Service Agent.

It is the policy for all positions that once applied/rejected you cannot reapply within 12 months.

So that will be why you are getting rejection notices so I would suggest you wait and apply 12 months after the last application and this may even include the last rejection notice.

Hi Moxie

I did have an eye test for the job, however I would not know if both cabin crew and CSA would be the same requirements. Let us know how you get on with the application.

Short Haul

Hi There,

I know that there are no more SH course's for this year however you never know this may change.
They are offering 3 month contracts for SH including the 7 weeks training.
5 weeks in the class room and 2 days coaching flights. One day on each 737-300 and on on the Airbus. Then your sign off flights on each.

They have been a wonderful conpany to work for and the training is very thorough.
I would recomend to anyone to apply, if the 3 month contracts are not extended it will be a great experience anyway.

The staff are wonderful to work with.

Best of luck.

Hi flyingkiwi

It seems odd anyone would sign up for a 3 month contract. The experience would be great, however better job opportunities would be better.

So why only 3 months?

Thumbs up

Qantas via Adecco and now Jetconnect have been training up new Air NewZealand FA's for years now.

Sixty have transfered so far this year we are told.

Cheers

Hi Moxie

Just be yourself.

I find they like people who are friendly and outgoing.

A major thing is to listen and then think hard before answering any questions. I remember having to come up with a solution to a scenario and there were several of us working together.

I was told afterwards they liked the fact I was able to see outside the box and come up with things the others, who were quite focused on the one issue, did not see.
