Angel New Comer...Help!

Hi all,

I am about to embark on my career in Aviation. I have landed a 6month contract with First Choice Airways and start in 2wks.
Although I know this isn't the best CC job anongst airlines it's a starts & I'm v.excited.

Any advice would be gratefully received....

Also I need 2 x pairs of 'crew shoes' (a sexy pair for meeting & greeting, & a comfy pair for behind the scenes). Any ideas on where I can get these?

Thx in advance.

I've purchased quite a few pairs of shoes from Tiffanny of London, who specialise in shoes for cabin crew. They have a few different designs and heel heights.

Tel 020 7495 3484 Fax 020 7495 3471 Addresss: 18 Woodstock Street, London W1C 2AL

Hope this helps, and good luck with your training,

Regards, Sammie.

If you're based at LGW there's a shop in Horley (2 minutes on the train from south terminal) next to Boots in the "high street" (It's the only pedestrian area you can find it easily, Horley is so small). I bought all my crew shoes there and they are usually very cheap!!

Good luck x

FC

HI

Dont knock the airline and be proud you have a job - there are 1000's of applicants for each airline and you have done really well to get in...

FCA are a good airline and now have the Premium aircraft which has set them miles ahead of everyone else so be proud.

Shame about your uniform tho lol !!

Shoes - For a cheapy pair try George at ASDA - wear them for a a few months then chuck em away and buy new ones..

Some of our girls have them they are smart and cost between 6-12 pound - a few of the blokes at my base wear the George mens shoes and they are only 12.00 after a few months I chuck them and buy new ones - and they are really comfy

Enjoy your training and your flying and be proud of yourself.

Cool

Hi,
This bit of advice may not apply to everyone, but I try to purchase boarding and cabin shoes that are about half a size bigger than I require. As your feet have the tendancy to swell when flying, the extra space in your shoes allows for extra comfort. You can always compensatre for this extra space with heel grips or in-soles if required. Clarks are pretty good as they usually supply shoes in half-sizes.

Glad to hear you're so excited about embarking on your aviation career. FCA are a lovely, "colourful" airline (you'll get used to the pink). I do agree with "Wan2fly" tho, make the most of your six months and the opportunities it will offer you as there are many people out there who would love to have the chance to make a career as Cabin Crew. It is a very rewarding job so above all - ENJOY IT!

Good luck with the training and see you on line in about 6 weeks!
Happy flying,

New Crew - FCA are a great fun forward thinking airline, the pinks not so bad, i think the girls look great in it.
As everyone said, you should be really proud of landing'pardon the pun' a crew job, and everyones got to start somewhere, the main key to getting on well in FCA is just be yourself and have fun, i'm sure you've had the Star Class concept rammed down your throat already so i wont go on, but it does work, try and help out with things outside of flying like fundraising and sports and social events etc.. and a little sly brown-nosing to the Crew manager and you should be well on the way to a perm contract come October - as we say down here 'go on my luvver'.
PS - My ex girlfriend flys for EZY and her little secret was Asda for crew shoes!
