Question Qantas UK - Advice needed!

Hi,
I have been offered a training contract for Qantas UK, which if completed successfully along with the medical should lead to being given a proper contract. I also have another job offer for short haul near to where I live so am trying to decide which job to take as taking Qantas would mean moving to London. Does anyone have any views or information on Qantas UK or been offered a contract by them and if so, what do you think about the company? Any views or information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

fly888,

it really depends on what you really want! I mean, well if moving to london is good for experience, a change of environment, may just be the path for you. It all depends whether you'll be happy or satisfied with wyour decision. Follow your instincts...

Hey can i ask you how did your interview went for Qantas? How was that whole process like?

Hey peeps, anyone have any advise or tips for me cos i am a lil worried, i mean, i dont know what to expect from the upcoming screening interview. Gosh... anyone out there???

Hi
I had my assessments in London and the first stage consisted of them checking my documents - birth certificate and education etc, a height check and one group discussion task. The process lasted about an hour and that was it! Then, if successful they called you back again for the second stage which was a psychometric test on the computer, another group discussion and a one to one interview. We finished up with a fun quiz on Austraila. The second stage lasted about 3 hours and then you were told by phone about a week later if you had got through.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, make sure you know heaps about Australia, because passengers WILL be asking you questions about it and it doesn't look good if you're working for "The Spirit of Australia" and know absolutely nothing, especially when you're one of the faces of Australia's international airline! Start studying!

I wouldnt be too worried flying for the rat and knowing next to nothing about Australia.

It doesnt bother QF management so dont give it a second thought.

If anyone does push the point on board, tell them its just like Neighbours.

That's the attitude Jettlager, professional as always!!!

You obviously don't mind looking stupid infront of passengers then or whatever you do! If i was flying for South African Airways etc, i would do all i could to learn up about South Africa, because you're there to focus on the passenger's needs and if they want to ask you questions about South Africa and you turn around and just say, "i dunno, i'm not from here!" you're going to look mighty stupid! Plus, where's the pride you have in who you work for and the uniform you wear, fair enough you might not agree with certain decisions that are made, but part of your job is to present yourself as being confident and capable in your job, you're obviously quite happy to do neither of these! People like you don't deserve to fly!

ozcabincrew,
irony......................oh......never mind.
jettlager

irony

n 1: witty language used to convey insults or scorn; "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"; "irony is wasted on the stupid"; "Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody's face but their own"--Johathan Swift [syn: sarcasm,

p.s the inverted comas are not my own.

Hope to see an apology from you OZcabincrew.

Hi,
Can anyone who has just been offered a UK contract for Qantas give me their views or opinions. Will you be taking up the contract and when are you starting?

Thanks
