Exclamation Fly-Chauf air

I went for an interview with Chauf air back in August and I was succesfull to go through to the final stage.
They took my picture etc at the interview and said that they would be in contact with me to let me know if I was succesful.
Well its now over 6 weeks since and ive not heard a thing.
I called them to check but was advised they were waiting for police checks to be completed.
I thought this was odd as they are not allowed to do police checks with out my permission.
Has any one else had this situation with Chauf air and what has been then outcome.

I get the feeling they are not recruiting at all as Im sure some one has told me about this before.

Cheers

Hi,

The exact same thing happened to me in feb. I laso found it very strange as a police check cannot be carried out without the appropriate form being signed by yourself. I was told for 3 months that they were awaiting police checks and would be intouch shortly.

I am not sure what they are playing at but I find it a bit dodgey, and you dont even need a photo for a police check, which is what they told me the photo was for.

chauf air

WOT A SURPRISE!!!!!

once again contacted Chauf-air today and there was nobody in the office to take the call from me!!
Advised for atleast the 5 time to leave a message could put money on it that they dont reply.
It also seems that they are contacting people for further vacancies at manchester.
BE WARNED !!!!

I would keep away from this airline, as they seem to be a waste of time.

Becareful seems a lot of people over the past year have had the same problem.
And have also been told that chauf-air are doing police checks on them when they have not been auth to do so.

I have never been messed about so much in my life makes you wonder what they are like to fly with if there is actually any crew.
Would be interested if there is some one out there who does fly for them cause ive only heard of the crew manager but no crew?????

Time will tell but im not holding my breath!!

A friend of mine also went for an interview at Man, and exactly the same thing hapened. I was actually told I had got the job pending a polic e check and never heard from them ever again, 3 months later they were still awaiting it!! So gave up ringing them.
Steer clear, would be my advice.

This thread sounds very similar to a virtual airline called Freedom Airways a few years back, they performed the same antics and nobody ever heard from them again.

I would say, move on to another airline. I understand the anger and frustration but in my opinion, an airline that screws around potential employees in this manner really isn't worth the bother.

Good luck

The very one, with the idea of a rainbow coloured tie for the 'boys'.

They were very ambitious too with the routes they were telling the crew they wanted to operate!

Angry chauf-air

Well you would never guess the latest lads and lasses!!!!!

once again called Chauf -air today to chase result from my interview and todays excuse aka lie was..................

We have sent it to our head office in London for our Chief exec to look over as with offering such a large salary we need his permission who will get the job. Then we will contact you to let you know........

mmmmmmmmmmmm thought the head office as per web site is in Cheadle Humle?
To which the response was ohhhh ermmm we have our main office in London.

I then asked is there actually any vacanies as this seems to be a regular occurance?
The sort of salary we are talking about requires extra time to decide who gets the job.

At one point cause i had heard so much bull s t I was convinced his was going to sell me time share in Tenerife.

Think there is more chance of Elton John shaggin Jordan than this job ever appearing.

If I hear anything else I let you guys know.

In the meantime be careful out there and avoid s t-air

Chauf-air beware!!!!

Be careful of this company everyone, the director called me at midnight on a Sunday night!!! Very werid and he told me they carried celebs such as Kylie Minogue. A professional organisation would never ever release this information.

To be honest I think he is a pervert getting his kicks out of speaking to all the girls and then takes pictures of them for his own benefit. I really think this guy needs to be reported!!!

Is this Dave Brown, surely it is illegal to take photos telling people that they are for police checks when it isnt as a photo isnt even required! I agree I think he should be reported I wouldnt be suprised if they dont have an aircraft never mind crew. As a matter of interest did he wear his pilots uniform for the interview, he did at mine. Weird!!

Interesting reading. Sorry to hear you've all been given so much of a runaround. Go to the police or the CAA and ask for advice on how to report this guy/company. Or ask "Flying Lawyer" on pprune, he might be able to point you in the right direction.
Your comments regarding so-called police checks concerned me. How much of your personal details do they have? NI number? Bank details? Home address? etc etc

On reflection that last sentence sounds like scaremongering, which I didn't mean to, but if it were me, I'd be concerned about the details that you have given, how to get them returned, and what the guy is really up to.

Chauffair went into receivership in 2002 (see link)

http://www.ainonline.com/issues/02_0...uffairpg4.html

It is possible that Chaufair is a con.

Please take care, if in doubt about having pictures taken and giving personal details contact the police straight away.

See details below re company who set up website...(recently)

www.netconfusion.co.uk/portfolio.htm

Following is lifted from netconfusion website detailing clients whom they have made websites for...

Chauf Air
July 2003
Based in Cheshire, this client was recommenced to us, the client set the colours and the brief , the site was agreed by phone, mail and email and to date we have not met the client (sorry Dave). All deadlines were kept and completed. Written in HTML with a small shockwave introduction the site will integrate with a database early next year
