Gulf
Bahrain is really nice! It's like a Dubai but a little bit behind. It's becoming a more cosmopolitan city every month. Like Dubai they are always trying to get the biggest and best of everything. It's close enough to Dubai and many European ports! I would take it! You have nothing to lose! If you have been offered a contract I would suggest you could fly in and take a holiday and check it out! Also checkout Dubai!
One advantage Gulf has over Emirates is that you get paid to rest. You get paid during Layovers.

Hey!
I have a couple of friends who have flown with Fulf Air before and they really liked it. Much can be said for the Arabic traveller, but hey that's culture and that's part of the job. I would take it, they siad it was great over there. Although i'd heard that accommodation wise Emirates were better, but it can't be that bad!
