C.R.M. Monarch don't have a preference. They take suitable people with or without experience.

tdol. You sound a tad bitter? Didn't you make the grade? Bless your cotton socks.

Unfortunatley Whiskey Zulu I did make the grade and it was probably the worst thing that ever happened to me. Come on if you work there you must know. There is just too much sucking up and back stabbing that goes on there. I am thankfully now out of there and havent been happier. To anyone who is still there well done for putting up with your collegues for so long(granted there are some nice people-that haven't been tainted yet) But going into work and panicking about what is going to be thrown at you today and not being able to use your own initiative to even change a gash bag! Well alls I can say is there is life after Monarch and being cabin crew can be really rewarding not just scary as hell!

Whiskey Zulu if you have any power over how junior crew are treated then please try and change Monarch's ways its intimidating and on a whole not a very nice environment to work in. You can be professional and still be nice to people.

who do u work for now tdol?

I applied to Monarch in Sept for MAN and they sent me an on hold letter sayin they had no vacancies at the mo. Then they sent me an invite to interview in NOV for next season.

Little did I know that on 29th Sept they started advertising for winter crew in MAN, so the other day i phoned them to ask about it and some snotty woman was saying no we havn't got any vacancies, the training starts in the next few weeks and we only want Gatwick and Luton staff so don't know what that was all about!

Oh well! All I can say is I won't be going to that interview if they can't even be polite on the phone and advertise the right vacancies!!

tdol. Unfortunately, you tar all senior crew with the same brush. Which base were you at? I agree, some senior crew, as with all airlines, have forgotten what it's like to be new at the job. Some of the assessments we receive highlight that problem. e.g. 'Needs to speed up on the meal service.' when the junior concerned has only operated 3 flights! Things like that frustrate the hell out me, but fortunately, they are in the minority. The one thing I am proud of is the overall standard of genuinely nice people we have working for Monarch as cabin crew.
I genuinely wish you well in your career elsewhere. After all, at the end of the day, the fact that our mortgages are paid is the most important factor.
