Thumbs up Jetstar working conditions

I'm attending a Jetstar Assessment Day on Wednesday 15th Sep (Finally!!!!). I was wondering if anyone can fill me in on what Jetstar is like to work for. There doesn't seem to be much talk about Jetstar on this forum. I suppose no news is good news. But if anyone has any info on working conditions, rosters, the general atmosphere, staff, progression possibilities, salary, benefits, negatives etc etc.......I will be so thankful!!

Many Thanks!!

Hey Ladyluck...

Good to hear you have an interview.. Have a look at the EBA on wagenet.gov.au - Go to Option 2 - Search and type in "Impulse Flight Attendant". The amounts in there have all increased slightly. In 2005 there will be new EBA negotiations, hence it might change by then.....

I canthelp you with any other info, howeever I do believe there are a few JetStars floating around...

Cheers

Dear Lady luck.

Good luck! As a veteran of Qantas I can tell you that it will be the slog and flog approach that Geoff Dixon has instilled in his managers. For those of us that remember the days when safety came first, the current approach of profit first is an accident waiting to happen. If you accept that then you will probably enjoy the time you spend with Jetstar. If you don't expect too much then you won't be disappointed.

Virgin will always retain an advantage over Jetstar while their management approach is the way it is. It is people that make an airline but sadly Geoff has forgotten this.

Please give an example of profit before safety to back up your comment.
